In English, we generally do not modify the word when we change the class of a word from a verb into a noun:

  • to drive --> a drive
  • to fly --> a fly
  • to desire --> a desire

In other changes of class, we can add endigns such as -ly to make adverbs, -ness o make nouns, etc.

Of course, in Hungarian, there is ALWYS an ending involved to change the class of a verb.

These are the main endings:

Ending Function Example
-i Noun-->Adjective Budapest-->Budapest (of Budapest)
-ság  -ség Verb --> Noun Segít (to help) --> Segítség (help)
-ás  -és Verb --> Verbing

TO DO ETC
